While the transition from summer to fall is exciting and many of us are ready for a new season, seasonal changes can be hard on our body. The fluctuation in temperatures outside. Kids back in school = exposure to new germs. It’s getting darker out earlier, the sunlight is changing, you may even be feeling a bit down.
Here are a few tips to help you during the seasonal change:
1. Make sure you’re getting enough sleep. It’s hands down the number one thing you can do to support your physical and mental health. Try to stay off screens an hour before bedtime as the blue light can make it harder to fall asleep. I’ve found that cutting out caffeine in the afternoon also better increases my ability to easily fall asleep.
2. Stay hydrated and cut back on sugar. Dehydration is a big cause of headaches, fatigue, brain fog and more. Aim to drink half your body weight in ounces a day. Excess sugar can wreak havoc on your body, negatively impacts your immune system, can further disrupt sleep, and can make you emotional too.

3. Move your body. Aim to get 30 minutes of exercise daily. Go for a walk. Do some yoga. Take the steps instead of the elevator. Park further away when you go to the grocery store.
4. Support your body with natural supplements such as Vitamin C, Vitamin B, thieves oil, and Ningxia red. Feeling down? Essential oils have huge benefits in supporting your emotions. My favorites are frankincense, lavender, and valor.
