Hi, I'm Margaret Powell

I created the functional health programs that I wish I would have had 10 years ago.

I struggled with horrific acne, irregular periods, awful PMS, anxiety, bloating & gut issues and after being told to get back on birth control and take prescriptions for my acne, I took my health into my own hands.

I found solutions, answers and hope and put my process and methodology into a program that uses a food first approach paired with the insights of functional lab testing. Since then, I’ve made it my mission to share this knowledge to empower more women to feel good in their bodies for generations to come!

My team and I have helped hundreds of women heal their hormones, improve their thyroid, improve their fertility, fix their digestion, clear their skin, brain fog and more.

My body was giving me many signs that it was depleted and needed to get back on track! Through testing we were able to see what my body was lacking and work towards improving my mineral levels which I have already been able to see improvement. Margaret Powell

Functional nutrition practitioner
Margaret is the founder of Fueled & Free Nutrition, and was lead into the world of functional health in an effort to heal her chronic acne, hormonal imbalances and gut symptoms.

She overcame her health struggles using functional nutrition, lab testing and continues to spend countless hours researching to find lasting solutions for gut, hormonal, immune & nervous system issues.

She is a Functional Diagnostic Nutritionist (FDNP), Certified Holistic Nutritionist and Root Cause Protocol Consultant. She has successfully guided & coached hundreds of women towards wellness by utilizing personalized nutrition, testing, targeted supplements & habit coaching.

When she's not helping her team + clients, you can find her hanging with her family, reading at the beach, lifting weights, playing pickle ball or walking her standard poodles. 

Aleece Rose

Nutritional Therapy Practitioner
Aleece is an experienced nutritional practitioner with education from the Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner Program (FDN-P). She found the functional health space in an effort to heal her own chronic health issues.

Her journey started as a young teen with awful acne and life shattering menstrual cycles. This led to multiple rounds of acne medications, with antibiotics and birth control sprinkled in every few months. She knows what it's like to deal with constant stomach pain, gallbladder attacks, hair loss, chronic fatigue. After 6 years, 10+ doctors and 3 surgeries, she knew she needed a different approach, and found healing Practitioner to run labs and show me what my body couldn't tell me.

Aleece is a military spouse, mom of two, and enjoys skiing with her family on the weekends in the winter, hiking in the summer, all things outdoors. 

Carol Fernandes

Nutrition practitioner
Carol Fernandes is an experienced nutritional practitioner with education from the Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner Program (FDNP), a holistic health coach and Certified Midlife Specialist. She entered the functional health space to improve hers and her family’s health. She successfully reversed her own thyroid & autoimmune issues through functional testing.

Once she entered perimenopause, and experienced new health challenges, she dedicated herself to learning how to support her body through this transitional period. She is passionate about helping other midlife women heal their gut and support their hormones to feel their best in midlife and beyond.

Frequently Asked Questions

You can expect more clarity and data on what's happening in your body, than you've ever had access to before. You can expect weekly check ins from your practitioner and you'll meet with your practitioner via zoom monthly to work through your protocol. We create a protocol based on your personal goals, symptoms, and lab results. You can expect dramatic improvements in energy, reduction in period related symptoms, better digestion, moods, sleep and more. 

When you enroll, we'll send you intake forms to complete and you can request on your intake form which practitioner you want to work with. Otherwise we'll set you up with the practitioner that's the best fit for you based on your health history, symptoms and goals. Margaret is not taking on clients but reviews client labs, protocols and supports via group zoom calls.

After the program ends, you'll have the opportunity to enroll into our month to month membership where you get continued 1:1 support via chat, a monthly 1:1 zoom call, continued protocol reviews and more for $597 a month. It's basically an extension of our 1:1 program. Most of our clients work with us for 4-6 months. 

Nope! You have enough on your plate. We do host monthly group calls for those that need additional support. These calls vary between Q & A style and mindset calls where we do things like journaling and nervous system related practices. 

Yes! We will work with you if you are taking a GLP 1 peptide like Ozempic, Wegovy, Tirzepatide, etc. We'll help make sure you are supporting your metabolic foundations from a nutrition + mineral standpoint, digestion, and lifestyle habits like strength training, etc. We've seen tremendous results in those who choose to microdose GLP 1 peptides and have found them to be helpful lowering food noise, inflammation, while addressing the body holistically. 

While we cannot prescribe (you need a well-versed licensed provider), we will guide you in the right direction, provide education and resources to help you get the support you need. We also include an HRT Providers Directory (organized by state) to reduce overwhelm in finding a prescribing provider when and if the time is right to start hormone replacement therapy. If you start HRT, we help guide you in fine-tuning your regimen (with your prescribing provider) and better advocate for yourself throughout the process.

We don’t believe in restrictive diets or eliminating tons of foods (we love protein, fat and carbs!) HOWEVER some do need to avoid certain foods (ex. gluten or sugar) when we are working on lowering inflammation or eradicating certain pathogens in the gut. Long term, the goal is to not be on a restrictive diet that has you avoiding certain foods. You’ll get recommendations for hormone-friendly functional foods to enjoy and a handful of problematic foods to avoid. That said, depending on your unique needs, we may provide specific dietary guidelines (i.e. amount of protein/carbs to consume, low histamine diet, etc.). We share lots of ideas for you with recipes, sample meal plans, and more. 

Most of us are deficient in key nutrients and it’s one of the many reasons we experience bothersome symptoms! Ideally you’d get all your nutrients from food, but unfortunately, that’s not always enough. Between depleted soil, pesticides in produce, stress, restaurant food, and eating on-the-go, assume you need some nutritional support. I believe in supplementing what’s lost and/or correcting underlying imbalances. Once we review your intake form and test results, we create a customized plan, which includes supplement suggestions.

You can access the resources anytime via our secure client app. Once you enroll, you’ll create an account and login to review the material. You will continue to have access to the online course material after the program ends.

Yes! We work with clients who are pregnant or newly postpartum / breastfeeding. 

As a busy woman myself, I had other busy women (like you) in mind when creating the program. Your protocol / game plan will require intention with your nutrition choices, taking supplements and incorporating certain lifestyle / detox strategies that will take no more than 30 minutes a day. We do recommend that you carve out time on a weekly basis once or twice a week to have a plan for eating, ex. prepping protein options, on the go breakfast options, making certain foods ahead to avoid overwhelm with eating. 

Most of our clients are action takers, are juggling careers and children and get incredible results by implementing what they learn, taking targeted supplements, and making intentional, daily efforts to support their metabolic health.
